SELENA IDIOMA

In this body of work, Selena explores moments of epiphany, peace, and nostalgia through portraiture. Three distinct painting styles reflect each experience, brought together through a limited color palette.

 

Her work draws inspiration from a wide range of influences, including the dramatic lighting of Caravaggio, the surrealism of David Lynch, the emotional realism of Hayao Miyazaki, and the bittersweet atmosphere of a dream pop ballad.

 

She is deeply grateful for the family and friends God has placed in her life, whose encouragement and belief continue to shape her creative journey. Selena would also like to extend special thanks to the Sew Loka team for the many opportunities they have provided to connect with the San Diego community through art.
